This is our second year purchased from Audon's farm, El Triunfo. After purchasing from him at the end of the 2018 crop, we had the pleasure of visiting his farm over this last Summer while in Colombia. Audon maintains a beautiful, quite large, farm with two defining features:

1) As evident in our photos, Audon has cross planted a large amount of plantain trees all across his farm. Many farmers do this in Colombia both for additional revenue sources but even more importantly is the shade which these trees provide. Coffee trees flourish in the shade so the more trees intertwined the better.

2) Audon's farm is incredibly steep but this does not deter him as coffee is planted everywhere possible along the steep hillside. We walked the entire growing area and it's difficult to get across just how steep an area some of these coffee trees were planted on. Pickers have a very difficult job here as a result but the quality is wonderful as a result. 

The resulting coffee from this Caturra lot is incredibly sweet and incredibly clean with predominate brown sugar/honey notes but as the cup cools there is lovely  apple-like acidity andwhite grape juiciness. A great daily driver for everyday enjoyment.

Finca El Triunfo is located in Palermo Huila, Colombia and run by Audon Solano. The farm sits at an elevation of approximately 1,800 m.a.s.l. and consists of 26 hectares in total. This particular lot is made up of Caturra, but Audon also grows Colombia (roughly 4,000 treees of Caturra and 10,000 trees of V. Colombia). The coffee is fermented for 24/36 hours, meaning the coffee is first fermented in cherry for 24 hours and then de-pulped and fermented in the tank for an additional 36 hours.
Audon was introduced to us by another producer in Palermo, whom we have worked with for 3 years now and an example of how the project is attracting producers not only from Santa Maria, but from nearby municipalities. This is our second year working with Audon and we are super excited for future harvests.
